UPDATE - February 2022 - Off Season Improvements

In order to satisfy the County Health Department, we are improving some less glamorous, but essential parts of the Club.  We are replacing the aged-out sand filters with a cyclone pre-filter and cartridge filters.  If our permit is approved by the County, this will prevent us from having to make a sewer connection directly to the pump house.  We are also returning to a liquid chlorination system for more regulated chlorine levels, with the tablet chlorinators remaining as a backup system. These pump house improvements should also provide a slight improvement of our flow rates through the system.  We have signed an agreement for that work to be completed at a cost of $15,000. We also must repair some pool flights, which will be assessed before filling the pool for the spring. We also will grind uneven deck areas and fill the cracks, both of which are required by code.

In addition, we need to replumb and retile the men’s room’s shower at a rough cost of $5,000.  We would like to save money on this task, so if you or someone you know has the skills to complete the shower job, please let us know (we will trade for advertising; this work must be done under a permit).  Rest assured that the remaining funds raised are staying segregated in the Club’s accounting to go toward the improvement project.

How do we accomplish this?

There's no way around it. We need to raise money! We know that our club is not only a fun place for us or our kids to hang out in the summer - it's more than that. The Northcrest Club is a place that helps to build community, It's a place that brings memories in our lives, It's is a gem that if kept will help to increase value to our homes and our neighborhood. To many of us - it's worth the volunteer commitment; the sweat and time keep things running or to improve.
